LDS Storytime Submission Agreement
By submitting my story, I understand and agree to the following:
1. Permission to Share
I grant LDS Storytime and its publisher, Murdock Publishing LLC, a worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, distribute, and share my submitted story and any materials I am authorized to provide. This includes videos, websites, social media, podcasts, books, and other current or future media.
2. Editing and Production
LDS Storytime may research, fact-check, edit, shorten, narrate, dramatize, illustrate, and adapt my submission for storytelling purposes while making reasonable efforts to preserve its meaning and accuracy.
3. Continuing Permission and Production Investment
I understand that producing a story requires substantial time, effort, and financial resources. I agree not to request withdrawal of permission or removal of a completed or published video solely because I have changed my mind or am uncomfortable with public reactions.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the license I grant is intended to be irrevocable. A subsequent request to withdraw permission does not automatically require LDS Storytime to stop production or remove previously created or published content.
4. Rights, Permissions, and Accuracy
I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge, the information I provide is truthful and that I have the necessary rights and permissions to submit any copyrighted writing, photographs, recordings, or other materials.
I understand that submitting someone else's story does not automatically grant permission to use that person's private information, image, or likeness.
5. Publication and Compensation
I understand that submitting a story does not guarantee publication. LDS Storytime determines whether, when, and how stories are published.
Submissions are voluntary, and I will not receive payment or royalties. I understand that LDS Storytime may earn advertising or other revenue from published content.
6. Ownership of Creative Work
I retain ownership of my original submitted materials, subject to the license granted above.
LDS Storytime retains ownership of its original scripts, narration, graphics, videos, and other original creative work.
7. Removal Requests and Concerns
I may contact LDS Storytime with concerns regarding accuracy, privacy, permissions, or publication. Requests will be reviewed individually.
I understand that removal is not guaranteed except where required by applicable law.
8. Age Requirement
I confirm that I am at least 18 years old and have the authority to grant the permissions described in this agreement.
Required acknowledgments
Public Exposure and Commitment: I understand that my story may reach a worldwide audience of 100,000 or more viewers. I am comfortable with LDS Storytime publicly sharing my name, image, and personal experiences as authorized in my submission, and I understand that religious content may attract criticism or negative attention. I recognize that producing a video requires significant time, effort, and financial investment. I agree that once production has begun, I will not seek to withdraw my permission or request removal of the published video solely because I have changed my mind or am uncomfortable with public reactions. I understand that my permission is intended to continue after publication, subject to applicable law and the Submission Agreement.
Submission Agreement: I have read and agree to the LDS Storytime Submission Agreement. I voluntarily grant LDS Storytime permission to produce, edit, publish, distribute, and potentially monetize my submitted story and authorized materials under the terms of that agreement.
